High Point Market Show Spring 2022.
Design Trend Summary
The Spring High Point Market show always leaves a wealth of design ideas. New furniture trends and color arrays are always on display and staged to perfection.
Each showroom has its own vibe, style and personality. At the end of the three day shopping experience my senses are on overload. I can always sense a few themes or colors that are trending for the spring.
Many companies since Covid added outdoor to their line of furniture. The trend is to expand your living area to the outside. People are staying at home more often than ever before. Working from home is the new norm. Because of this trend, designers and contractors are in high demand these days. The show was very busy, and bubbling with creative inspiration.
Here is our round up.
Upholstered outdoor furniture
They’ve designed the new materials to include cushions and mesh material underneath to have the rain slide off easily. A luxury seat that wicks away water with ease. Comfort mixed with function.
Spring colors.
Green, green, green. Many companies are now adding outdoor seating collections, as the demand for luxury at home is growing. Since the lockdowns of 2020, we’ve seen a pivot in everyone’s lifestyle, with their sights set on making a better space at their place of residence. Vacation at home has always been in style, now it’s in demand.
Teak outdoors.
Teak and self storing leafs, comfortable outdoor furniture sections.
Bring the living room outdoors. Teak ages gracefully and lasts longer with very little care.
Slip covered Outdoor furniture.
A convenient way to style outdoor seating using fabric, comfortable, cleanable, and helps the endurance of the framed structure. Sunbrella fabrics, washable slipcovers are in demand under covered porches.
Primitive Furniture.
Another trend we thought was the perfect juxtaposition with the sheik fabric and luxury outdoor. Seats carved out of a single trunk, or organic branch design, built well, but clearly organic and unrefined. No need for upkeep or cushions.
Summary.
Fine living at home is clearly gearing up for the warmer weather. It’s just the right time to start dreaming about how you can improve your outdoor living spaces. The High Point spring show gave me many ideas to share with you.
