Sunroom Makeover: Stylish, Cozy, and Nature-Inspired
It is always such a compliment to my work when a past client calls me to design another space in their home. The owner uses this sunroom as the main space to watch TV, entertain, and construct puzzles. The space looks out over a beautifully landscaped private yard with full-height windows and two French doors dominating the two main walls. A custom wool striped rug fills the space and provides warmth under the shining neutral marble tile.
The furniture includes a patterned sofa and swivel armchairs with ottomans in light patterned fabric. The tables and lamps were all ordered from the same company, specifying several light painted finishes. Whites, blues, grays, and green tones mimic the colors of nature, coordinating the interior with the exterior views. The existing entertainment center, originally brown, receives new life with textured grasscloth installed in the background, and distressed white chalk paint is applied to match the finish of the side tables. The two large artwork pieces, selected last, stay within the blue and green palette in a dreamy landscape form. It was fun to see such a drastic makeover in this already stunning space.
