Long Awaiting The Summer 2021 High Point Show.
Highpoint for the first time was delayed from April to June 5-9 due to Covid this spring. I made my appointment’s with the large showrooms in advance. My three days are strategically planned by area’s due to how large the city is to cover. The buildings are several stories jammed with each company in miles of showroom space rented for two times of the year. Fall and spring to display the latest & greatest furnishings each has to offer. It is a sensory overload of the most amazing interior Design finds one can imagine. This show did not disappoint.
The 3 trends I noticed where at High Point this summer was the bold color of Green, the vast amount of new companies adding on outdoor furniture and the phrase primitive modern.
Green and Bold.
The bold color of green is a bright and fresh idea. To bring the outdoors inside your interior. Green is also referred to as energy efficient. It is the color that is so easy to decorate around. It goes well with wood tones. Adds a pop of color and is still neutral enough to not ever date your home.
Outdoor Lifestyle.
Outdoor furniture choices where everywhere. It is a new world view after coming out of Covid. We all want to live more of are life outdoors. It seems safer and more enjoyable than ever before. In the states where you can enjoy the outdoor climate all year round. Designers are being asked to extend the design to the deck and patio for an extension of outdoor living.
Primitive Modern.
Primitive Modern is the new popular style for many companies this year. It is casual, organic and has a modern flare. Natural woods & clean lines define the shapes catching my eye. Shells, beads and painted tree bark make up many new lights in the showrooms. Texture sisal looking rugs are popular with coastal colors running through the weave to complete the look.
Take Away Thoughts.
The highlight for me was to meet Christina from “The Coast” in the Spectra showroom showing off her new Furniture line!
As we all have spent the most time in are lives at home this past year. The design industry has never had more request for renovations in past history. This business has flourished and grown & never slowed down post Covid. My client list has increased and orders are in abundance. People are finding more use for their home than ever before.
