Emerald and Earthy Hues: Trends from High Point Market 2024
The three popular styles this season are Contemporary Coastal, Modern Farmhouse, and Organic Chic. Natural colors in various textures and hues of beige and brown are prominently on display. Layering organic, earthy tones is especially popular in bedding and upholstery. Deep emerald green, the dominant color, appears in velvet, cotton, and linen, bringing a natural and outdoor-inspired vibe.

Round ball pillows in a variety of textures and patterns are the new trend, perfect for sectionals, benches, and beds. Animal deer heads were abundant in the Gabby showroom. The industry is shifting away from traditional styles toward transitional clean lines. Many HGTV renovation shows emphasize open floor plans and minimalism, a concept I embraced long ago. It’s essential to select the right pieces intentionally, focusing on proportion, texture, color schemes, and style to create comfortable and lived-in spaces.

I was thrilled to meet Galey Alix from HBO Max’s Home in a Heartbeat, who introduced a new line in the Surya showroom; Libby Landon, designer for the Fairfield Chair showroom; Cathy Purple Cherry, at her book signing for The Design of Country Estate at Currey & Co.; and Amelia Cooke, founder of Eloquence Furniture.

Each visit to High Point, NC, every fall and spring, reawakens my passion as I walk through the showrooms, discovering new products and trends. This event is my ongoing education, helping me find exceptional products for my clients and connect with industry leaders. This year marks my 29th year in business with Decorative Interiors. I’ve had the privilege of helping so many clients design their ideal living environments, and I hope to continue for a few more years, creating and growing in the gift that God has given me.
