Carolina Forest Home Before & After

Date

Progress Update.

We started improving this Carolina Forest home in the Winter of last year (2021).

Creating a peaceful coastal retreat for all this family was a much-needed relief for all the family had endured in the months before. They described a terrible fire they had experienced with all their belongings destroyed in the fire.

This meant that the new home was furnished initially with only the donations the community provided. Hearing this story and nearly escaping the fire made me want to make this home a place for healing and happiness. At the first initial meeting I was able to take pictures and measurements for floor plans with a list of all the improvements. My contractor, Daniel was called to help me on some of the improvements such as: painting, patching a ceiling leak, changing out lighting fixtures and installing shiplap under the Island and new plank vinyl floor’s.

The Details.
The next we would be the ideas of color, lighting, furniture area rugs and tile. With my client’s gracious approvals to do what I do best, choices were chosen very quickly, and I was off to ordering product and preparing Daniel to do the construction and painting scheduling.  The lights were in stock and installed as part of Daniels construction related jobs. While waiting for the furniture, we selected and ordered the bedding and artwork for each room. After the master bedroom furniture was installed, my decorative painter Michelle Roberts came to chalk paint the wood king bed frame to match the other pieces in the room.

We were able to transform the two bathrooms with new mirrors, fixtures, shower curtains artwork and rugs to give an updated fresh look. The room is more than just the fixtures, it’s the accents that give it warmth, and that feeling like it’s home.

The final furniture and artwork where installed and it was like a whole new house in the feeling, look and vibe. I was so happy, and the homeowners where very appreciative and patient through the six month period. This was a special project handled with love to see the transformation and happiness it brought to this special family was an absolute joy. It always gives me a deep sense of accomplishment when I know my work has touched a family and given them a new meaning to enjoy their function and surroundings.
