How to Retire in Style – Dream Kitchen Remodel
We recently completed a project for a local retired couple who wanted to finally have their dream kitchen.
A Kitchen with Dark Cabinets & Quartz Counters.
My client’s first request was to replace the existing white cabinets with rich dark toned cabinets. This is not the normal styling we see typical of the Myrtle Beach region. Most kitchens are light in color or brightly painted blues and grays. The dark cabinets bring in sophistication & elegance and go well with lighter consistent quartz countertops. A simple brick white backsplash is selected for a classic look that stands the test of time. Not all residents in Myrtle want a beach house look.
Decorative Interiors was involved from start to finish. This involves assisting with introducing the contractor, assisting the construction project on all aspects of the renovation. Selecting the cabinets, countertop, appliances, lighting, paint and backsplash.
Single Source Contracting.
Our favorite contractor Daniel from D.L. Sanders was selected to repair the wood floors, take out columns in the dinning and entrance, and handle the full renovation for the entire kitchen. Some details that made this kitchen more custom are subtle elements like the glass display cabinets that meet the crown and on the once opened wall. The oven, originally in the center island, was relocated to give more working space to the island & make it safer for the grandchildren to visit.
It was a joy to work with these clients to achieve a more sophisticated updated functional kitchen that they have always envisioned.
